Merry Christmas and thankyou to you all..
Dear CCBR Supporters,
last week's shocking announcement of our government's appalling response to Climate Change has led many of you to write letters or join us last Tuesday at our peaceful protest outside Tanya Plibersek's office:
Thanks to all those who attended or sent their apologies - we delivered 3 pages of them to Ms Plibersek on the day.
If you didn't get around to telling our politicians how you feel and would like to, here are their addresses again:
Tanya Plibersek: Tanya.Plibersek.MP@aph.gov.au
Kevin Rudd: http://www.pm.gov.au:80/contact/index.cfm?p=3
Thankyou all for your wonderful support in this recent action and throughout the year.
Groups like ours are leading the way in building a movement and we are looking forward in 2009 to creating a national groundswell, from the grassroots, that will compel our government to become strong and sensible leaders on Climate Change.
2009 will be the year when we turn our politicians around...
There is one final chance to turn the Rudd Government around on this issue. We have 12 months before the UNFCCC talks in Copenhagen next December that will decide the next phase of the international Kyoto agreement.
Encircle Parliament : 8am, Tuesday Feb 3, 2009 - Parliament House, Canberra.
Come together with thousands of climate concerned Australians and form a human ring around our Federal Parliament House on the first parliamentary sitting day of 2009. For more info see http://www.climatesummit.org.au/moreinfo
CCBR is planning to organise a bus for folk to go to this. Let us know if you are interested ccbrmail@aapt.net.au
