Send an email submission - now!!
(3 minutes.....depending on your cut and paste skills!!)
The government needs to hear our disapproval of Garnaut's 10% by 2020 target.
The ice is melting. The scientists are telling us that emissions must peak and start falling within the next 18 months.
This target will not do that. Submissions close Wednesday Sept 10th - tommorrow!!
All citizens can make a submission to government on the Green Paper (Rudd's Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme and the Emissions Trading Scheme). Participate in this process and send an email supporting CCBRs submission.
Heres's how...send one to emissionstrading@climatechange.gov.au ....see below
5 easy steps....
1. Hit "Forward" on this email and delete everything except the text below. Copy emissionstrading@climatechange.gov.au in the "To" bar
2. change "subject" bar to 'Green Paper Submission'
3. Fill in the attachment "Cover Sheet" (this page must be included so leave as an att. as well) Cut and paste it into the body of the email - above the text below (in green)
4. Fill your name in the text.....
" I .......your name here....submit my support for the response to the Governments Green Paper submitted by Climate Change Balmain-Rozelle. I would like to highlight that we are asking for immediate radical reform to ensure a Safe Climate Future for all Australians. We are asking for
• 2010: Peak emissions
• 2020: No more than 40% of 2000 level; (60% emission reduction with a stretch goal of zero emissions)
• 2030: Zero emissions

5. Lastly.......Send the email!!
By sending this you have contributed in providing some vitally needed balance to counter the intense lobbying that has been occurring over the last few months to protect powerful polluting industries. These vested interests can afford to spend thousands in lobbying politicians - our voices are our best defence.....
