CCBR Newsflash #26 - 25.7.08

TTT visual petition....

Hi all CCBR supporters,
See below for the latest Turn The Tide email - this is a great campaign.
If you can organise one of these pictures to be sent to TURN THE TIDE you will be part of a large climate movement Australia wide (without pounding the streets!)
We urge you all to think about your local communities; choirs, church parishes, volleyball teams, soccer teams, yoga classes, dog walkers, bookclubs, families....any group big or small that you are part of. (You could use your sign in many different groups!)

Please take the time to do this - we only get one chance at averting Climate Change and it's trully 1 minute to midnight!

If you know of anybody who might be interested in getting their local communities to do a photo please feel free to forward this email on,

Jenny
from the Climate Change Balmain-Rozelle team
(apologies for cross-postings)

"The Australian Government's Green Paper response to Professor Ross Garnaut's 'courageous' report on climate change is the first sign of real commitment to positive action since Australia ratified the Kyoto agreement in 2007. Over the next six months, the Government will formulate the details of its response in a White Paper.
Australian citizens can help shape this debate, and balance the pressure from the Opposition and powerful vested interests that are intent on watering down and delaying action.
Politicians need to hear the voices of ordinary people on this issue." - Citizens Climate Campaign

Turn The Tide is aiming for over 1,000 images from communities all over Australia before the end of September.

For more detailed "how to" info refer to the attached doc.

get onto it and happy snapping,
cheers,
