'Due Season' for Election antics
Dear supporters, 3 different activities for some pre-election involvement:
This Saturday - October 27, the team will be going in search of misplaced polar bears in Sydney Harbour and inviting some local press along to raise the profile of Climate Change for the forthcoming election. If you'd like to give the bears some support, I believe they're heading for Elliot St Wharf at about 10am.
If cheering-on bears isn't your style but you'd like to help hand out Walk Against Warming pamphletts, then please come along to Orange Grove Markets 10am - 1pm, we'd love to see you. This years 'walk' is on November 11, in it's 3rd year - 4,000 participants* in 2005 - 40,000 participants* in 2006 - how many this year??
For more info on the walk see: www.walkagainstwarming.org
and lastly, not to forget the "People’s Blockade of the World’s Biggest Coal Port" in Newcastle. You can't beat it for a day of old fashioned, 'at the coal face' activism - make a day of it and travel up to Newcastle to join them! Saturday November 3, 2007 at Nobbies Beach (just behind on the dog beach). More info at www.risingtide.org.au - check out the photos of the last one in Feb this year.
Yours sincerely,
the CCBR team
